To Richmond, North-west Queensland,and beyond!
My Mum's brother's wife, who drove from Newcastle
NSW to visit her sons in Cairns (a mighty effort for a lone, aging lady) had a few days with me on her return journey. We took the opportunity to visit my parents who are in Richmond, about 8 hours by car west from Townsville. We travelled out on Saturday, and returned on Monday, this week.
On Sunday we all travelled 130 kms over a 4-WD only trav-able road to an "oasis" where we met for our fellowship meeting and a delicious baked dinner with special friends.
Here are some pics of the journey to the oasis on a property named "Hampstead Springs"

Overcast in Townsville
It is kind of overcast in Townsville, North Queensland - has been most of the week.
There was not a lot of rain in our wet season (Summer-Autumn time) and it is looking rather dry here now. Last year there was some rain during the Winter time, so we hope that will be our portion for this year, to keep our grass and the surrounding hills green. I think our town water comes from a massive supply, but if the drier wet seasons continue, that will diminish.

My cousin and her children called today
It was special to be remembered so kindly by my cousin, who has travelled up from Newcastle, New South Wales to have time with her brothers in Cairns in North Queensland. They enjoyed fun days with family in Cairns. They were enroute to Charters Towers (1 and a half hours drive from where I am (Townsville, North Queensland). They (my cousin, her 13 year old daughter, and 11 year old triplet daughters. The last time I saw them was when the triplets were toddlers!) called and enjoyed a "cuppa" with me, and a look at some family pictures. They have a long journey home, now, and plan a couple of nights at Carnarvon Gorge in Central Queensland, then enjoy hot springs at Moree the following evening, before driving the rest of the way home the next day. Safe travelling coz's. Love you.
